Simone Arianne Biles had a tough childhood. She was born on March 14, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio. Simone’s mother Shanon struggled with drug addiction. When Simone was 3 Shanon gave up Simone and her 3 siblings. Then in 2003 Simone’s grandfather Ronald and his wife Nellie adopted Simone and her younger sister Adria. When she was 6 Simone visited a gymnastics center. She signed up and 2 years later Aimee Boorman started training her. She was home schooled so she could practice longer. In 2013 she was in the senior level she failed the 2013 US classic so her coach had pulled her out of the competition. Back then she didn’t look like the world’s best gymnast.

Simone Biles has more gold medals than anyone in the world. In 2013 she won the 2013 world championships. She also won the 2014 and 2015 world championships. She has won the all-around 3 times in a row from 2013 to 2015. At the 2016 Olympics, she won the all- around easily. Her only mistake was putting her hands on the beam to steady herself and that put her in 3rd place. Simone finished with 4 gold and 1 bronze. Many people call her the best gymnast of all time.

Simone is an athletic, hardworking, brave, determined, and proud gymnast. She always tries her best and never stops trying. She has great skills in gymnastics, never cracks under pressure, and is always calm in the spotlight. It took a lot of practice to become the best but she never stopped trying. Many call her the best gymnast of all time but she doesn’t want to be compared to other great Olympians. She wants the world to know she is one of a kind. “I’m not the next Usain bolt or Michael Phelps,” she said at the 2016 Olympics. “I’m the first Simone Biles.”

After the 2016 Olympics, Simone was part of a gymnastics tour. The Olympic team performed in 36 different cities around the United States. She took a year off from gymnastics and now she’s back! Simone Biles continues to show her athletic ability to the world and prove that she truly is the best gymnast of all time.
